Well here I am again, 6 months since my last journal entry.... havent had anything really to rant about... until today.

Today I'm flying to see Andi after 5 weeks apart... I have booked my flights with plenty of time between flights to ensure a smooth connection... or so I thought.

I leave my home in Newcastle at 4am to drive to sydney then catch a train to the airport. I arrive at the airport 2.5 hours before the flight is due to leave... so far so good.

First hiccup!!! the flight from sydney to perth is delayed 45 minutes due to some crap with the air traffic controllers... thats ok i've allowed 2 hours from when i arrive at perth to when i have to fly out again.

Flight finally departs a full hour late... still not too worried as my arrival time to Andi has not been affected.

Then the pilot comes over the PA... "we're encountering some stronger than expected headwinds..." - hicuup number 2!

Finally land in perth at 13:40 local time and its 13:45 before i get off the plane... fortunately I have no checked bags and I sprint to the check in counter for my next flight... guess what??? they closed the flight at 13:40... so, to quote Maxwell Smart, "Missed it by that much!".

So now i'm sitting at the airport at Perth waiting for the next flight i coulld get onto which has delayed my reunion with Andi by 3 hours...

Anyway, all of that is just me venting because i hate when shit beyond my control forces me to change my plans etc...

As they say... "The best laid plans of mice and men often go astray..."
